Camp Mommy

Dear Abigail,
Two weeks ago, Emily came to stay with us for a whole week!  I had all kinds of things planned for us and Mimi even offered to take Kate so we could do even more things!  We met Mimi half way on Monday and switched Kate for Emily - even trade right :) We met at lunch and were back in Franklin by 2ish so we started Camp Mommy off right by heading straight to the toy store!!  Mommy was looking for a kite and I knew Emily would love the store, too!  And she did!

Of  course both of you found so many things that you HAD to have, but I said we'd wait until the end of the week to decide if we were going to buy anything.  After the toy store, we got home and decided we immediately needed to get in the pool, our neighbors pool that is!  Our neighbors went out of town and gave us a key to their pool, and we didn't argue with them!  You and Em had a blast and it was nice for Mommy to be able to just hang out pool side without worrying about Kate, or entertaining you!!  Em even taught you how to do your hair like George Washington!

That night you and Em played while I cooked dinner, and by play I mean acted like a tornado was coming.  You girls love to make the little bench cubbie thingy upstairs as a tornado shelter.  And you bring EVERYTHING in there!  You had tea in the shelter, sandwiches, babies galore and every blanket and towel you could get your hands on!  Y'all played and played and eventually we had to call it quits to get to bed because the next day (Tuesday) we were headed to the water park!!!!
That's right, on Tuesday, we ventured to Nashville Shores!  Now, I was a little nervous about you going because you like your floaters on and they do not allow any floaters/swimmies/lifejackets but their own and they don't let you go down the slide with anything on, but there was a cool kid zone area and a couple slides that I thought you might want to go down.  Thought is the key word...  So we got there early that morning right when it opened (which is the key, FYI) and got a spot right in front of the kids area.  It was perfect because you could play and it wasn't too old for Emily either and there were even slides and water gun things and all kinds of fun.  And there was a bucket of water that would fill up and tip over and make a loud noise and then all the kiddos would scream, loudly.  Let me repeat that, there was a loud noise followed by more loud screams which equals you freaking out.  Yep, that's right, you got all worked up because of the loud noises and wouldn't go near the kid area.  Awesome... So, we ventured to the other parts of the water park.  You loved the wave pool, but it made Mommy a nervous wreck because I'd have to keep my eye on you AND Emily and they aren't playing with those waves!  But it was fun, but even more fun for you was the lazy river.  You absolutely loved floating around and around and around.  You'd sit up on your tube and just float away!  We did that many many times, but we also had to venture to the slides for Em's sake.  But, thankfully (not really, but thankfully today) Em is a bit of a chicken when it comes to slides and she only wanted to go down a couple of them!  It was nice because there are pools right by the slides so we could play in those while Emily did the 2 slides.  There was also this rope thing where you walk across water on these floats by holding a rope.  You did that and impressed everyone because most everyone else was falling off and not making it to the other side (until the lifeguard told everyone that the smaller you are the easier it is, but whatev).  So we stayed and played and swam and floated and I tried and tried to get you to play on the kids area.  I showed you how a little bell rings before the water falls so you have time to move and cover your ears but you wouldn't trust me.  Eventually we all grew tired and we got our things together and headed home.  But first we stopped by and picked up a movie for you and Em to watch.  Y'all were having movie night at the house, candy and popcorn included!!  Mommy had book club that night so Daddy was in charge of you, so I made it fairly easy for him, wore you out with water park, got a movie, and made home made pizzas for dinner!
Daddy said it was  no problem getting you two to bed that night!  That next morning Daddy was so excited when I came home from the gym.  He said "I didn't have to get out of bed to get Abs breakfast because Em got it".  (Mommy was at the gym while this was going on).  So I asked what you ate and Daddy said cereal, so I thought cool.  Well, then I asked you what cereal did you eat and apparently Emily 'fixed' you Cinnamon Toast Crunch AND Fruity Pebbles.  Both cereals you do not eat, much less together!!!!  I guess there are pros and cons to having a 10 year old helper :)  What's funnier is later that day I hollered up to y'all that you needed to get dressed, brush your teeth, your hair, etc.  You said "Mom, Emily already helped me do that" so I thought SWEET!   I saw you come down the stairs and your hair was pulled back in a pony tail, you had a cute outfit on, teeth were brushed, and then you got closer...

That's right, Emily had put makeup all on your face.  Or as you called it "Mexican".  That also included deodorant and body spray.  Neither of you were too happy when I made you wash your face...  But that's okay because we were going to the pool that day anyway.  We went to the Y pool and it was a nice break for you and Em.  Em made a friend (an older friend as in her age) and you and Mommy played together.  That afternoon Emily taught you gymnastics.  Oh yeah, that's right.  You guys went up to the theatre room and A) had a dance party and B) to practice gymnastics and sure enough and hour later you both were calling me up there to 'See this!!'  You were doing a front handspring and landing in a back bend!  I couldn't believe it.  Even Emily was having problems with it.   There were also several cart wheels and front rolls that were performed.  Aside from gymnastics and a dance party, the two of you played house a lot.  Some times you were the Mommy and Emily was the baby, well, Emily was Makayla, or KK and you were often Annie and sometimes you were the baby and Emily was the baby.  Regardless, you two would play for hours!  I cannot wait until you sister gets old enough to play like that with you!
On Thursday, I HAD to take Emily to the trampoline park!  I knew she would love it, and of course, you and I love it, so why not!  Aunt Steph had the day off so she and Ellie joined us!  What fun we had!  and Yes, Emily loved it!!!  I didn't catch any pictures of her though!  She was working really hard on that front hand spring!

Ellie and Aunt Steph had fun, too.  Look how funny, I mean cute, Aunt Steph looks jumping!!

After the park, what better place to go than the Aquarium restaurant!  Em had never been, so we had to show her!  And, she thought it was awesome for sure!  After lunch, we walked around a bit, tried on some Toms, looked at some clothes and got CeCe's!!!!  There's a spot in the mall conveniently by the carousel and we all needed a little something sweet by that point!  After ice cream, we headed to Dave and Busters for a little bit because, again, why not.  You and Em played air hockey and pac man and you tried to play the alien shooting game but Em was able to distract you to something different! We didn't stay too long because we had a couple errands to run.  We had to stop by the Green Hills Mall on the way home from Opry Mills.  By this point neither you nor Emily were feeling it, but we survived the couple of errands (it didn't hurt that one stop was Tiffany's and the other was the Apple store, although you kept asking why you couldn't have this pretty necklace).  Shocker, both of you fell asleep in the car on the way home and thursday night was a chillax evening, no doubt.
Friday rolled around and Emily decided she wanted to forgo her pedi and mani for some toys at the store, specifically cool things to decorate your locker! Holy cow that stuff is cool.  So, instead of eating lunch out, get pampered, we ate lunch in and I painted your toes and nails!  And then went to the toy store!  Also some where in there I packed us to head to the beach the following morning!!  A crazy week, indeed!  We topped the week off by heading to Mexican and then closing it down with Em watching a too scary for her movie while you slept!
As I said, that next morning, me, you, Em and Pic-pic (yep, Pic-pic) headed out to the beach with Mimi and all the family!  But that can wait for another post :)
Hope you and Em had fun at Camp Mommy!  I sure did and need a vacation to recover from it!!  Loves you!

The Summer Fun Continues

Dear Abigail,
If you cannot tell by my slow process of updating your blog, we have been having SO much fun this summer!  In one week, these were our adventures...

You took Kate on her first jeep ride...

You did pretty good as a driver, but didn't quite grasp the concept of the fact that you cannot hit the curve with your sister in the car.  But other than that minor detail, it was a great (and VERY HOT!) ride.  And it was short lived because soon enough you wanted to be pulled in the wagon.  Did I mention it was hot?  We stayed inside the rest of that afternoon...
We also went to eat Mexican for lunch.  You thought this was hilarious and when we walked in the hostess said "Hey Kate, Hey Abby, where's everyone else?"  She, too, was confused that no one else was with us.  I explained to her that we had been out of town and had absolutely NO food in the house.     That was why we were at Mexican for lunch :)
The next morning we headed to the toy store to meet Snow White.  Now, you were SUPER pumped about going to meet her.  You said you were going to give her a hug and also asked 1500 times if the dwarfs were going to be there.  I assured you they were not, and you seemed content.  Until we got there... The second you got our of your carseat, it clicked in.  You were going to see Snow White.  I could not get you out of the car.  You kept saying "I just want to watch her from the car."  Mommy is smart and had arranged a babysitter for Kate because I knew this was going to be a bit more trouble than you were leading on.  So I patiently waited with you in the car, talking you through your fear...
And got you out!! But only to the window.  We went to the door and you started freaking again so I suggested we watch from the window.  We saw lots of little girls sitting and waiting for Snow White, but you wanted to watch from the window, even though I explained to you that Snow White looked a lot like Mommy, so there was nothing to be worried about.  (what??? she does look like Mommy ! :)  Still, you waited by the window...

Well, the second Snow White made her appearance you said "She is just like you Mommy" and you took off running inside!  I couldn't believe it.  And I couldn't find you.  You had weaseled your way up front and took a seat right in front of Snow White and listened while she read everyone a story...
And then, after the story, you ran and gave her a big hug!!!  You were SOOOO excited to meet her!!!
And you even started stalking her!!!

If you can't tell, it was a little trouble getting you out of that toy store!  I was so proud of you for meeting Snow White and hope we are on a road (granted it may be long) to Disney World!  If only you'd like Mickey Mouse.  And fireworks.  But whatever, that's neither here or now.  Hooray for Snow White!!
On Wednesday we met up with all your cousins for a little bounce time!  That's right, you, Sister, Ellie, Caroline, Harrison, Spencer, Alexis and Carly (and Auntie Amy and Mommy) all met at the Trampoline park.  Man alive did we all have fun!!!
You were very excited to show everyone your 'front flip' which really was a dive into the foam pit, but nonetheless, you were awesome at it!
We bounced and bounced and bounced and worked up a very hearty appetite so we headed over to the Aquarium restaurant for some grub.

Now, this place blew you away.  Fish and sharks and Mr. Rays were everywhere and you kiddos loved watching all the sea creatures swim around.  You and Ellie were a bit wound up and were showing you dance moves off a little too much, but you made your cousins (and Auntie!) laugh the whole time!  After lunch (which btw, you ordered spaghetti and the only reason I say that is because I knew the second I said they'd have it you'd want it but it slipped out of my mouth.  No biggie except you had on a plain white shirt... anyway, you loved it, even if we were at a fish restaurant!)  So, after lunch we walked around the mall until we stumbled upon the carousel.  It looks like you are in an actual horse race though...
After a little spin, we decided we'd just wrap the day up with even more excitement and head to Dave and Buster's - also known as Vegas for kids.  Wow was it loud and lights were flashing every which direction!!  You noticed with your sensitive ears, but soon got distracted by all the games (see, Vegas).  You and Ellie played most of the games together but man alive it was hard keeping up with the both of you and Kate in that place (Aunt Steph was supposed to go but got sick the night before and couldn't...).

Yes, that's a machine gun you are shooting.  And yes, you were shooting Aliens.  You begged and begged to play it.  I have no clue why, and could not convince you to play a little more subtle game like Whackamole or PacMan, so I let you.  You two LOVED it!!!  Who knows....
Once Mommy's head was seconds from exploding, we packed up and headed out.  Oh, but that was not before we had to 'cash in' our tickets.  Our 26 tickets... You cried because you didn't understand why we didn't have enough tickets to get you the stuffed animal that cost 1,800 tickets.  You even said "let's go get more tickets then" but finally I convinced you that we'd go buy one at the store if you'd just take the 10 ticket yo-yo... Of course Ellie got a kazoo and you wanted that which caused a whole other issue, but whatever, we finally got in the car and headed home.  Whoa what a day.  We made it home at 5:30ish and were all exhausted!!!!
The next day it rained finally!  But it rained all day, hard.  So we didn't go anywhere.  Well, other than taking a very long walk in the rain!  You, me and Bugs splashed our way down our street and back again.  The first trip you carried your umbrella and I carried this huge one...

But then you wanted your rain jacket on sans umbrella...

That was so much fun and then we got our fuzzy clothes on and rested!  A nice rainy day for us!
The next day it rained to, but you occupied our time by singing...
You should of known, could've know, would of known.  Meet the new Taylor Swift!  And look at those dance moves, or those wiggling moves.
A fun week pretty girl! And the summer continues on... LOVE YOU!

Caroline!!!

Dear Abigail,
Last weekend, Daddy went with his buddies to a Cardinals game, so Mommy took you and Kate to see Caroline!! Or at least that's what you kept saying.  You weren't too worried about anyone else but asked multiple times, are we going to Caroline's yet?  Are we going to Caroline's yet?  Are we going to Caroline's yet? You get the point, right?!
So, Saturday morning after Sister woke up, we headed that way!  Of course the second we got there you found Caroline and off you went!  You guys were inside and outside and changed clothes within minutes of being there!  And of course, we HAD to have a dance-a-thon!!!!

You guys played and played and then rain came, and that didn't stop you from playing more and more!  Oh, and if you can't tell, Mommy totally forgot her camera and had to steal these from Aunt Steph!!!  But anyway, played, played played - that's the key!  You guys ate dinner and then chilled out a bit by watching TV before bed.  Of course, your bed time wasn't until 10 because I had to get your sister situated first (and eat dinner, but that was Uncle Martin's fault!!) but finally you got in bed.  Only to rise early the next morning asking "Is caroline awake?"!!!
She wasn't too far behind you and after a yummy breakfast, we decided we'd head to the 'waterpark' down the street.  We kept calling it a water park, because, well, it's the park with water!  It's the latest and greatest thing in Cookeville.  A park with one of those water spouting things.  You and Ellie and Caroline loved it and Mommy and the aunties sat in the shade and watched you silly girls!!!

Yes you had to do your pose.  When will that phase end???! We walked to the amphitheater where you and Ellie put on a little show for us and ventured back to the house.  We decided to go to lunch, which just means we made the worst mistake because who goes to restaurant row on 12:30 on a Sunday with 11 people.  Anyway, it was quite a lunch, no doubt, but that's how it usually rolls with this crew!  You managed to spill milk pretty much everywhere, and get honey mustard salad dressing literally all over you.  But we had fun, right?!!!!  Let's just say by the time we got home (and Kate busted her lip) I was looking for Daddy in the driveway!!  A fun weekend though - one that will go down in the books!  You sure do love your cousins and play so well with them!!!  Loves you dancing queen!!!

4th of July

Dear Abigail,
I looked back over the years (all 4 of them!) and realized this was your first year NOT at Mimi's house for the 4th of July!  The main reason, or well, really the only reason, has to do with the fact that the $th decided it would fall in the smack dab middle of the week!  Boo.  So it was on a Wednesday and since we just spent a week with Mimi and we're headed to the beach with the whole fam in a couple weeks, we decided we'd just stay put in Franklin.  And, we celebrated this hot 4th of July the correct way - in the water!  That morning, we swam over at our neighbors house to cool off and then got ready and headed over to Uncle Jaybee's house for a little water slide action!  Your sister even cooled off a bit in the baby pool, but as you can see it turned into the everybody pool...

You cooled off all parts of your body, and I counted it as a bath, too :)
Uncle Jaybee grilled us ribs and we enjoyed the all american cuisine including potato salad and ice cream cake!  Part of the reason we went to Uncle Jaybee's is because his neighbor was having this huge party with family and bought like a million dollars worth of fire works, so we'd have our own personal show.  We were all pretty excited and let you kiddos stay up (not Bug, she went onto bed!).  As the sun was setting, we all grew anxious and anxious (read - tired and tired) and finally we heard our first fire work.  Well, that's all you needed.  You freaked.  Even with your head phones...
We tried and tried to get you to watch them outside, but nope, you weren't having it.  We couldn't even get you to watch them from inside.  You and your sensitive ears...
Daddy was able to take you up to the media room and watch them from the window, but even then you kept saying "I just want to go home."  So we did!  Of course, it was a chore to get you in the car because we decided to leave right at the finale, but none the less, we got in the car and headed home!!!  Well, you are months away from turning 4 and one thing is for sure, you hate fireworks!!! (and people dressed in costumes).  Therefore, you will not be getting a trip to Disney for your 4th bday.  We'll see about #5... Until then, we'll continue testing you over, and over, and over again :) Love you sweet, sensitive ear thing! Happy 4th of July!!!

Grandmomma's Birthday

Dear Abigail,
Last Saturday we made a trip to Kingston Springs for a "little" family reunion, all to celebrate Grandmomma's 92nd birthday!  That's Daddy's grandmother, Papa Larry's mommy!  It had been a long time since we had seen her (and the rest of the family!), but you had no problems joining in the fun! Here's you, Kate, Daddy and Grandmomma!
I put little in quotes because, well, the Clark family is far from little, in the sense that there are 1 million of us, or close to it!  Aunt Linda and Uncle Gary were nice enough to let everyone come over to their house and even got a water slide to help cool everyone off!  Everyone brought a little something to eat, and we all enjoyed lunch on their fancy back porch!  Of course, your favorite Clark cousins were there, and since we dressed you guys all the same, or well, had you 'coordinating' we had to take your pic!  Or at least try...

You played and played and played on the water slide while Mommy enjoyed playing with Kate in the air conditioner :)  It was seriously the hottest day, like I'm not kidding.  It set records and stuff.  The heat is hot topic of discussion, that's how I know!  So yeah, you guys played outside, then came in for a bit and had Spencer chase you up and down the stairs.  Again, we thank Aunt Linda and Uncle Gary for opening up their house to our crazy bunch!!!!  A fun family reunion! Now, if you can just help me remember everyone's name :)

Last Day of Primrose

Dear Abigail,
It was a sad day.  You had your last day at Primrose School of Brentwood.  I'm pretty sure Mommy was more upset than you were, and as a matter of fact, I'm not real sure you really knew what was going on, which makes me even more sad.  Now that Mommy is staying home, it doesn't make sense for you to go to a day school, but instead you need to go to a preschool where all the kids are on your schedule (i.e. M-W-F, 9-2 type days).  We will miss your school and especially your friends.  London B, Ella, Brody - all of them have been with us since the beginning.  You still talk about London B, and Miss Jamie Jo, and you think she looks like Miley Cyrus, as you tell me every time you see her on the computer (when you play her song "Put your hands up...") ANYWAY - for your last day, we brought in cupcakes especially picked out by you.  It was a Mermaid Cupcake Cake and you were super excited!

Ella & Brody!!!

Oh, and your sister joined us for your going away party and your friends were happy to have her!!
This is your class as of June 2012.  It has changed quite a bit, but we still will miss all of them!
As far as your new school goes, we will start at the end of August!!!  You can't wait because "It's where Chloe went to school."  Until then, it's home with Mommy.  Every day.  All day.  I hope we make it till August baby girl!!!!!  LOVE YOU!
