Dear Abigail,
During the summer, a lot of kiddos head off to camp. Well, you are a smidge too young to head off just yet to real camp, so we headed to Camp Mimi! That is, we headed to Mimi's house for a solid week! And we took Ellie with us!!! Ellie usually goes to her Nona's house for a couple weeks each summer, but this year Nona is sick and fighting yucky cancer so we decided Ellie needed to come with us for her summer camp! On Sunday, after a fun father's day, we packed up the car and headed to Munford!!! All three of you were super excited and did pretty good on the drive in...
When we got to Mimi's, Pic-pic and his brother's were grilling steaks for their Daddy so we joined them for a lovely steak and potato dinner! You both were eager to stretch your legs and you insisted on climbing on "Uncle Giles" (That's what you call Pic-pic's daddy!!) golf cart and 'head to the beach'. Ellie was too busy giving Trip and his friend looks that would kill! Since it was a long day and we had a busy week, we headed to bed sooner than later. Unfortunately, you caved on Ellie and wouldn't sleep with her in the playroom. Ellie was brave though and slept up there all by herself, despite all the scary animals in Pic-pic's man cave!! Monday morning rolled around super early for this crew (and that theme continued until literally the last day) and we got straight to being 'at camp' including yummy waffles!
After breakfast we headed down to Mammaws for our first dip in the pool!
Aunt Lizzy, Sarah and Emery were in town the whole week, too, visiting before they went off to real camp, so we got to hang out with them a bunch. They also brought Jake with them, their black lab. The first time we walked in, both you and Ellie completely freaked out, which wasn't pretty since I was by myself with the 2 of you AND Kate! But, you eventually warmed up and within minutes you remembered you liked Jake. Ellie, however, had a different opinion. But, we worked around that and found the pool with no problem!! Mimi met us down at Mammaws with Clara Lee and Em, so we had the whole crew there to play! We ate lunch, swam, played on the playground and had tons of fun. We headed home that afternoon and brought Clara Lee with us! You three had no worries with finding something fun to do, including a fashion show for all your furry stuffed friends! You also played and played on the playground and completely destroyed the playroom! But that's what camps are all about, right?!
On Tuesday, we got our swimsuits back on and headed to the Ripley Water Park!!! We got to the water park right when it opened and boy did we enjoy it! You loved the slide and really wanted to go down the big slide but couldn't without taking your floaters off, which you refused to do, even after Mommy went down it (multiple times, woo woo!). Maybe next year! But for this year, you enjoyed the water, no doubt!
And of course you loved spending time with your cousins!!!
Soon enough the sun had worn us all out and we headed home. As expected, two little girls fell fast asleep on their way home :)
So naturally when we got home, you girls were ready to rock n' roll, or at least play a little more, so outside y'all went. Well... I kept my eye on you two, but wasn't necessarily watching you super close. As long as I looked back and saw you were on or near the playground, I was content. Well, after about 30 minutes of playing outside, I looked up and saw you were crying in Kate's swing (the baby swing), which I knew you had buckled yourself up and couldn't get down. No big deal. Kate was sleeping so I decided I'd come play with y'all. So I swung you and Ellie for a bit, then you two switched swings. When switching, I noticed your outfit was a little wet. I assumed you got in the water, but decided I'd better ask anyway. So here's our conversation:
Mommy: Abby, why are your clothes wet?
Abby: Because I pee pee'd on them?
Mommy: You did WHAT?! Abigail Faye Clark, did you pee pee in your pants?
Abby: No Mommy, I went pee pee outside.
Mommy: Abigail, we do NOT pee pee outside. I am very disappointed in you.
Abby: But Mom, Ellie poo poo'd outside.
Mommy: I'M SORRY. SHE DID WHAT?! Get down now both of you and show me what you are talking about.
Sure enough, you both walked me right over to the playground and showed me a wet spot, and, well, a pile of poop, pardon my, well, disgustingness. Oh yeah, that's right. She pooped and you peed. I was livid to say the least, but both of you said "But we couldn't hold it and it was coming out." To say the least, you both went to time out. And Mommy made a big move in the disciplinary genre - I threatened you with a spanking if you ever did that again. I don't spank. You've never had a spanking. But this was uncalled for. Of course, Mommy and Mimi were doing everything we could to not laugh out loud, especially when told Ellie we needed to go wipe and you said "No mom, she used my panties to wipe." Yeah, the ones you had on. Gag is an understatement. Now, there is more to the is story, but that will continue on Wednesday. For now, know that Mommy (and Mimi b/c I made Mimi clean it up!) were soooo not happy...
You girls went to bed soon after dinner, to say the least.
On Wednesday EVERYONE went to the zoo. By everyone I mean Mommy, you, Ellie, Kate, Mimi, Clara Lee, Ash-ash, Aunt G, Em, John Michael, Lizzy, Lynne Sarah and Emery! A lot, huh! We got there super early, or well, right when it opened and I was so proud of everyone for making it, including us! Because we got there that early, it was not too hot (at first) and a lot of the animals were moving around. You really enjoyed your day at the zoo with all your cousins!

We even made it to the farm exhibit!!
A fun day for you at the zoo, no doubt! After the zoo, we headed back to Mammaws to cool off, that's code for jump in the pool!! Well, you girls (you and Clara Lee - Ellie was innocent this time...) so you girls decided you wanted to play on the playground at Mammaws. No biggie. Pawpaw was out there doing some yard work, we were all lounging around the pool. Well, we look up and see Clara Lee streaking across the neighbors yard. Yes, streaking. As in naked. Ash-ash wasn't too surprised, but still hopped up to get her. Well, half way there, we saw you streak. UGH!!! I hopped up to get you and about that time Ash-ash made it to you to which I heard "Ummmm, Niki, you need to come get your child." Well... You decided you needed to go poop outside like Ellie did, and decided to do it smack dab in the neighbors yard. Unfortunately, you were not as neat about it as Ellie was, if you catch my drift, and you decided to use your bathing suit as toilet paper. Well, after hosing you off from head to toe, and trying to calm myself down, I dried you off, took you over to the side of the house, and gave you what was promised. A spanking. I was so sad about it, trust me, for more reasons than one. But you deserved it. And I hope the lesson was learned. Only time will tell, but man alive please don't do it again!!!! It's super gross!!! And you know how to potty!
And yes, we headed home and straight to bed! We were all exhausted!!!!
Well, Thursday rolled around and Camp Mimi needed a chilled day, to say the least. So we took it easy that morning and then headed over to Ash-ash's for lunch. You and Ellie talked nonstop about riding a donkey at Mimi's house so we HAD to take you to actually see a donkey! And of course, we fed the goats!
Or I should say, you and Clara Lee. Ellie decided her best place was a few feet back, but she enjoyed watching them!!

And we ate lunch. As we were sitting at lunch, we got to talking about going to a movie. Well, quicker than I can say "Madagascar" we were headed to see it! It worked out perfectly, flying by the seat of our pants and all! We got there just in time for Ash-ash to get popcorn, Mimi to get Kate and Mommy to take the 3 of you potty. As we walked in to get our seats, the movie started, the popcorn was handed out, and Katie Bug went fast asleep! She slept the entire movie and you girls did pretty darn good, too! You switched seats just a couple times and at one point all 3 of you were laying on the steps (there was hardly anyone at the Thursday 2:00 movie in Munford!) and "Fireworks" song came on. It was so funny - all 3 of you jumped up simultaneously and started dancing! We all enjoyed the movie, especially since it was indoors and cool! After the movie, we headed back to Mimi's and played a little bit more. That night, I had you guys bathed and dinner ready by 5:30! We all headed to bed early that night (well, except for you because man alive you were TERRIBLE with sleeping at Camp Mimi, but we tried to get you to bed early, but instead watched a little too much tv at night...Anyway, it's camp Mimi, right??? ). So Thursday was a nice, relaxed, chilled, go with the flow kind of day - a much needed day, no doubt.
Friday, was our last day and so to wrap things up, we headed back down to Mammaws to play with all the cousins one last time. We did some swimming, but I think everyone was pretty burned out on the swimming, so you girls played quite a bit outside. Sarah was playing with y'all and decided to teach you how to do a back hand spring. I'm not so sure that was a good idea, but you look like you are having fun!
Ellie decided frontwards was much more fun that back!
Then I let Sarah have my camera and these are the pictures I ended up with!
I think she's had to pose a few times in her life! But overall, pretty cute pictures!!!! Well, after a good day at Mammaws, we packed up and were about to head to Mimi's. Well, long story short, Ashley went all the way to her house (40 minutes away!) with my keys in her purse! AHHHHHH!!!! Mommy was so ready to go home and wrap up this Camp Mimi but we had to wait just a smidge longer. Thankfully, Papa Rob came to the rescue and met Uncle Jay with my keys and brought them to us. And in return, we graced him with our presence at Mexican. I am pretty sure he regretted bringing those keys because you two were CRAZY at Mexican. But I let you because I was done by that point. Straight up done! So we finally made it up, got baths, got packed, got in bed, and slept one last night at Camp Mimi. We (myself, Kate, Ellie and Mimi) woke up at our usual early time, but you decided to sleep in the one morning we needed to get moving!! After waking you up, we headed out the door still bright and early, waving to Mimi the whole way out the drive way.
Whoooooo, what a week! What a fun week! I'm so happy we can do things like this and I'm so happy we can bring Ellie with us! What a blast! Love you little camper girl!!!!
