Last Week

Dear Abigail,
Last week had some exciting happenings.  One of those happenings was Pancakes and Pajama Day at school.  If you couldn't figure it out, you are studying the letter "P" :)  You got to wear your favorite PJ's AND got to bring a stuffed animal.  At first, you were all about those frog pajamas, but then I reminded you of your matching pj's with Abigail, your baby doll and there was no turning back!!
I think you were a little sleepy that morning, or actually, you've been a little sick, but just a stuffy & runny nose.  I also braided both of your hair on the side.  Everyone was very impressed with the two of you!!!
And I think the day wore you out a bit...
You also went BY YOURSELF to a friends house for the first time.  Caroline, a girl from school, asked you to come over and play one afternoon and help make Valentine cookies.  You were SOOO excited and I knew you would have no problems playing without me.  I didn't even get a good bye from you!  When I picked you up a couple hours later you were not happy about leaving and hid under Caroline's bed, but eventually I got you out, and you got to take cookies home with you!  Miss Aleah (Caro's mom) said when you guys were making the cookies, you said "Can I please make a few for my sister and mom and dad?"!! You are too sweet.  And they were delicious, too!!!
We also had some beautiful weather one day last week.  We took full advantage and visited the park.  You and your sister were both thrilled to be outside and both of you spotted a puppy that I had to drag you away from.  The owner was nice enough to let you throw a ball to the puppy over and over again.  We are going to have to get a puppy sooner than later, but I just need your sister to be a little more independent, k?
You of course found the monkey bars and had to do a little hanging...
One day last week you took a nap, sadly, so I knew that meant you would be up later than usual that night, so instead of sitting around the house, just you and I went to the grocery store.  It was fun, but you are as bad as your dad wanting this and wanting that.  You did not understand that we stick to the list!!  I did let you venture off the list a little with watermelon.  I'm nice like that :)  You BEGGED for the watermelon and man alive I am glad I got it because you AND your sister devoured it the next day at dinner.
You also took it to school for lunch and Miss Amy said you talked about your watermelon all morning and were so excited to eat it at lunch.  Who knew a little watermelon would make such a day for you!
We also made oreo popsicles one day and man alive were THOSE delicious!!
Afterwards, you decided you wanted to make soup, so I let you.  You then decided, without me knowing, that you wanted to stack all your spices up like a tower, then put the flower on the tip top.  That wasn't going to work out well, but you didn't realize that.  Therefore, the mess came like no other...
It was bad, and smelly, but you did clean it all up by yourself (or enough to be considered by yourself!!!).  Maybe we learned our lesson... Maybe...
A fun week and that's not all, that was just the school days!  The weekend was even more exciting!!!
Love you!

Emily's Visit

Dear Abigail,
Emily has been begging Mimi to bring her up here for a weekend and we finally made it happen for her.  Mimi and Em came up on Friday afternoon, just in time to head to Mexican with us.  After Mexican, we showed Emily how to dance, or, well, she showed us how to dance on Just Dance Disney.  She's not too shabby at those dance moves.  You showed off your "Tinkerbell Dance" and Mommy showed her the "Follow the Leader" dance.  Saturday morning was supposed to start off with a basketball game, BUT, it snowed (again!!) and the game got canceled.  Mimi was pretty sad that the game was canceled, but I don't think you blinked an eye at it.  Instead, you, Emily and Ellie headed outside to play in the snow!!  Aunt Steph even ventured out there to help make a real snowman this time.

After lunch, we put Katie Bug down for a nap and left her with dad while we headed to some big girl activities, including the trampoline park!!!  I think the pictures can do the talking here...

We made it to the "little kids" trampoline even though Emily wasn't exactly a little kid and you became obsessed with getting the balls!!

And would even take then from complete strangers.  It was all fun and games though... we think...

and until you decided to act like you had a baby in your belly!!!

 Then in your mouth!
Mommy even decided to jump a little with you...
but you got upset because you said I hurt your wrist.
 So you pouted...
We only had a few minutes left to jump anyway, so we just let you pout.  I think you were more exhausted than upset, so you deserved the break!
After the park, we headed back home to meet Daddy and Kate at Mellow Mushroom!!!  As always, there was a long wait, but you Daddy and Emily were able to win all three of you ducks to play with, a favorite activity while waiting for pizza.  After dinner, we headed home and played a little more dancing and let you and Emily play a bit more by yourself.
On Sunday morning, we woke up and jumped in the car to get donuts!!!  Now, Mommy has never just hopped in the car to head to get donuts.  It's just not our thing, or it wasn't our thing.  I'm pretty sure it will become our thing though.  I will say, though, Sunday is not the best day to just hop in the car, pajamas and all, and head to Krispy Kreme in Cool Springs.  Why you ask?  Because everyone is there grabbing a quick donut before church!!! That's right, in dress up clothes and all, and here we were in our pjs!  Ha!!!  That's okay, we had fun and man alive were they delicious!!!!!
After doughnuts, you three got baths and showers while Mommy and Mimi tried to walk off a few of those donuts we ate, then Mimi and Em had to head home.  We had to get ready because we were going over to Ellie's to watch the Super Bowl!!
That's right, we finished off a great weekend eating yummy junk food and watching football, or, well, you played in the playroom all night, but still, a fun night!
So glad Emily could come and visit us and I hope she had as much fun as we did!!!!  Love you!

Snow Day - Take 2!

Dear Abigail,
I forgot all about my super favorite part of our snow day with Ellie.  After warming up, we had a little bit of time before lunch, so Mom asked you two to go play while I cleaned up our 'getting warm' mess. I looked up, and you were reading Ellie a book.  Sweetest thing ever...

We ventured to the library last Wednesday and I think that has sparked a fire with you.  We got chapter books and you have LOVED reading them each night to find out what's going to happen next.  Love it!  Love you!

Snow Day!!!!

Dear Abigail,
Friday morning you woke up, came running down the stairs, shook me awake and said "MOM, IT'S SNOWING!!!! That means it's Christmas!!!"  Part of your statement was correct...
Yep, sure enough, it had snowed a pretty white blanket all over our neighborhood.  School was immediately canceled, as the least bit of snow makes everyone go into a frenzy and since the day before  was a no school day due to Parent Teacher conferences, and the day before was a no school day because it was a Wednesday, I decided you needed a playmate for the day.  Who to call, who to call?  Why Ellie of course!!!! Thankfully they hadn't left yet to go to her school so Uncle Jaybee was able to drop her off on his way.  Hooray, everyone gets to play in the snow (and have someone to play with!!!)
We all got bundled up, put our snow pants on and our snow boots on...

And off to the snow we go!!!!

It was a beautiful day, so it was a nice day to play in snow.

We had a little trouble making a snowman, partly because the snow wouldn't stick together and also because your sister did a face plant in the snow that put her in a "I want to be held" mood, understandably so.  So I made each of you a snow ball and you both were pretty happy with that!
And then you tried to make it bigger...

We walked down the street and played in the open fields a little and then decided we needed to warm up, even if that sun was shining.  On the way home you found a 'frozen pond' and decided to break all the ice up!  That I think was your favorite activity.  Well, aside from trying to make your snowball bigger!
Oh, but wait, I think this was Ellie's favorite part!!  When we got in, we had hot chocolate with a few extra toppings!

After one sip, you decided you didn't really want it, and needed to warm up the old fashion way...
Ellie, on the other hand, took her precious time sipping her cocoa!!

You girls had a blast in the snow and Mommy loved seeing you both play and make snow angels, but...
I have to say, the best part of Ellie coming over was occupying your time.  Because of that, Mommy took a few minutes to herself and enjoyed the beautiful snow day, sitting fire side!!

Love you!!!
