The Fair!!!

Dear Abigail,
We did, indeed, go to the beach again, but Mommy is waiting on pictures from Ash-ash and Mimi to update the blog.  So I'm skipping our week at the beach and heading straight to this past weekend, or rather, the fair!!!
Now, I'm sure I've said it before, but I heart the fair.  Every bit of it.  The rides, the food, even the awesome people watching, but really the rides are the bestest.  On Saturday morning, I told you we were heading to the fair to ride rides and you were very excited about "that one circle that I rode with Mimi yesterday" ride.  The ferris wheel.  So off to the fair we went, with your sister being pushed around by Daddy.  We were walking in and Mr. Jay, Miss EP and Grant were right there, so we joined them at the farm exhibit first.  Your excitement took a wrong turn and you began to panic about the animals and if they were in cages and you needed to be held and you didn't want to go, etc, etc.  I would say, oh, within about 3 seconds of walking into the exhibit, we had to keep a running pace to keep up with you.  I don't know what that was about, but we're all glad it passed...
So you did a little farmin' including picking apples...
Getting some wool from a sheep...

Driving a tractor...

and catching a fish!!!! You were super pumped when you caught one!
For some reason this black crow tickled your feathers...

And you fed all your corn to the cow, then milked him appropriately...

As a reward, you got to pick a carton of milk.  Guess what kind you got???
You said "SHhhh, don't tell Mimi we got chocolate!!!"  You've got your peoples crossed, missy.  It's Mimi you are supposed to whisper to and me you are supposed to hide it from! You then had to take all your veggies and wool and fish and milk and sell it at the farmer's market.  You were rather quick at this, got your dollar, then went to the store and bought your 'groceries' and were quite eager to show Grant what you could get for a dollar.  Unfortunately, Grant was not interested in the business side, he just wanted his animal crackers.  So you kindly helped him out and soon enough you were both happy!

There were lots of animals to pet and it was like a kid in a candy store, or petting zoo.  You went from animal to animal in lightening speed time...

Soon enough we headed out, but not before we saw a very, VERY large pig who just gave birth to 15+ piglets.  Like literally, just gave birth.  Like I said "Oh my! How old are they?" and the guy said "within the hour."  And it smelt like it to.  Your exact words were "That's piscusting!" We quickly made our way out of there and headed to the rides.  You rode TONS of rides but the best part was we ran into Ellie so you got to ride with her!!! (Yes, your momma planned it that way).  You LOVED the rides, but it was so funny because while Ellie is usually our little scardy cat, you were the one saying "Go slower" while Ellie screamed "FASTER!!!"  You both were all smiles, no doubt!!!

Here you are saying "HEY GRAMMA!!!!!!" Yeah, it's what you say.  And you think you are hilarious for saying it too...
Two cool chicks patiently waiting for the roller coaster...

And what a roller coaster it was!  Now this one you had so much fun on and I could have watched you over and over again on it!  So that's why I took 200 pictures and included all of them!!

We kept trying to get you to hold your hands up but no way was that happening!!!  We (you and I) also rode the lady bugs with Aunt Steph and Ellie.  Now, don't think of all sweet and innocent because you hear a ride call lady bugs.  Uncle Jaybee got scared on it the first time with Ellie, but Ellie was dying to do it again.  You were very hesitant, and understandably so.  Those ladybugs went around and around and then twirled individually on their own.  It took a bit of work to convince you and you actually exited but asked one more time "Does it go slow Mommy, like this slow (you moving your hand very slow) and I said "Yep, super slow" so you jumped on!  HA!  I thought I could either be in big time trouble or you would thank me over and over again. Well, you thanked me!  You had such a fun time spinning around and around and no tears at all!!!  I was so proud of you!
Aunt Steph and I tried to get you girls to ride this ride with us, but we had zero takers, but tons of fun!!!!

Yes, that's us upside down.  Hanging.  Then going in circles, upside down.  It was awesome!!!!  After the lady bugs, we decided to chill for a bit and grab some fair food.  There were other vendors there like Jim and Nicks and Chickfila, but Daddy kept saying "You know when else you can get Jim and Nicks?  Everyday" so we decided to get the hard core, deep fried fair food.  And we all felt miserable and 'piscusting' later.  Actually, I'm pretty sure we all through half of what we ordered away because it was terrible.  Except Ellie's extra long corn dog, because we all took a bite or 2 from it and she got a little upset!  We decided we wouldn't completely rule fair food out but polish sausage and philly cheese steaks were out.  And fried pickles.  And onion rings.  Yeah, we lived it up.  So to make us feel even better, we decided to go back through that terrible smelling farm exhibit, because you wanted to show Ellie.  Ugh is all I can say!  But you two had a blast fishing and planting and, of course, eating your ice cream sandwiches you bought with your dollar this go round.

Well, after we made our way out past the new mother, Mommy convinced Aunt Steph to ride this crazy  fair ride and we were literally handing the guy our ticket when a policeman came up and said "Sir, we have to ask you to shut your ride down."  My first thought was "They have just busted this fair ride owner with not doing something right and we just about got on!!" but it was actually a really bad storm coming in and they were shutting all rides down!!! I, to say the least, was rather disappointed and even convinced Daddy to wait it out in the auditorium.  But then we looked at the weather map and, well, Daddy said we had to pack our things and high tail it out of there!  It was probably the better choice, but don't tell Daddy.  I was sad, too, because we didn't ever get to ride the ferris wheel or the nemo ride, which you were very excited about.  But that's okay, I don't think you noticed.  You were too excited about Ellie coming over for dinner.  Yep, we thought we'd wrap up our day with Ellie and fam over at our house for a little grilling.  It was a perfect evening.  You two girls played really well and did not get into anything at all, well, anything you weren't supposed to get into (i.e. water, glass, markers on walls, etc) and the parents enjoyed each other's company.  After a VERY long day, you hit the sack and were out!  Maybe I can convince Daddy to let me take you one night this week so you can ride that ferris wheel. Oh wait, that's right, we're off to our last adventure of the summer - Houston here we come!!! (I told you we don't slow down!!).
Love you!

It was so good to see you! We felt the "pisgusting" too after all that food. Plus, the smells and heat make it a bit worse too. It sure was a fun morning! Just think we will have two kiddos riding rides next year!
