Random week...

Dear Abigail - this week was very eventful! Daddy went out of town on Wednesday morning, so/and, Mimi was here by Wednesday afternoon!! She finally got to meet Miss Lee, and I believe she approves, which is good, because we love Miss Lee. Mimi said when Miss Lee handed you to her (Mimi), you started crying really loud. Thankfully Mimi didn't get her feelings hurt and leave, because we needed her to stick around! You warmed up within minutes and you and Mimi were playing with Abbycadabby in no time at all. Thanks to Mimi's visit, Mommy got a lot of stuff done. I got closets cleaned out and went through old clothes that I can FINALLY get back into. I only blame that partially on you - the other part I blame on my genetics. I'm hoping since you look so much like your daddy, you won't deal with this, but if so, I'll teach you all the tricks. I even got to clean out the kitchen cabinets and Mimi cleaned, as usual, for us! AND, you are now a crawling machine. Then, Daddy came home Friday night and you crawled for him too. He even thinks you are saying Da-da when he walks in the room and he's convinced Mimi of it too. I still have my doubts. Then on Saturday, Mimi left cause she had to watch Clara Lee that night, and Mommy & Daddy had to get a real babysitter for you!! You see, we went to your first opera! It was actually pretty good. We left you with Miss Robin who is an all-star babysitter. She said you were perfect other than you just didn't want to eat (see, I am convinced you will have your daddy's genes b/c mommy always wants to eat)... AND, once we got home, you slept all night! You've been having issues with this - even with Mimi here. You did this weird thing where you were pulling your hair out really aggressively. Mimi thought you had a brain-freeze because of your juice THEN she thought you had an ear ache. The doctor said neither and to just watch you. You haven't done it since! thank goodness because you looked a little psychotic. Anyway, so you slept and mommy slept!!! And the next morning daddy got up with you and when i finally got out of bed, you were asleep with daddy on the couch. i took a picture. THEN, today (sunday) we met Papa and Miss Glenda for lunch then we went and visited Aunt Patsty and Uncle Ray! Aunt Patsy is your Nan's sister. This was your first time meeting her - she looks just like your Nan did, it's amazing. Uncle Ray and Aunt Patsy were both so good with you adn they even offered to babysit! We made a pact with them to visit more than every 7 months! your cousin Nadine and Lori stopped by for a visit too - those genes are so strong, you all look alike!!! Finally we headed home after a very long, adventurous weekend. It was a good weekend baby girl. I'm so proud at how well you are crawling in just the short period of time. you are amazing us all... love you.

Teeth & Crawls

Dear Abigail - Daddy's feeding you some pears and a chicken vegetable dinner right now (delicious), so i have a few secs - YOU CRAWLED TODAY!!! You've been getting really really close, and Daddy has been trying to count it for over a week now, but today I decided it was a crawl. You did it several times, but of course, not when I got the camera rolling. And then you just got cranky b/c daddy and I worked you to hard. For future reference, this won't be the first time that happens. We're both so proud of you - you are 7 months and 9 days - so that's awesome. AND you have a tooth! I noticed it more yesterday, but i let you bite my finger today and no doubt it's a tooth! and i can see it. We've been waiting on these little bumbs to pop out a white tip, and finally you did!!! You're growing up so fast - i love it, but sometimes want to just pause time and watch you. Oh, and Clara Lee rolled over 3 times! She'll be crawling right beside you before we know it!
Love you lots - get excited, Mimi is coming tomorrow!!!!

Easter

Dear Abigail - What a long weekend. We started off the weekend hiding in safe zones at the mall, but it only got better from there! Friday night we ate our usual Mexican with our usual group (minus Lee & Leigh & baby Ryan). We/I was sooo excited about how well you were behaving and how well you had eaten dinner at Mexican. You ate all of your apples and chicken and that gets me super pumped. Everything was going great, then you decided to grab mommy's paper napkin and bite off a chunk. Well, I knew what was coming next. I won't get too graphic, but you started gagging and I started freaking, and well, Miss Erin had to go get Mr. Jay's jacket out of the car for mommy to wear because your apples & chicken ended up ALL over her! But, you didn't choke, and you were happy go lucky right after! We all were sent over the edge with that though - thank goodness we were at Mexican (i.e. margaritas, which I will tell you about when you are 34). So this past week, you've had trouble sleeping all night like you usually do. You keep waking up every hour on the hour it seems, and the only way you will go back to sleep is if I pick you up and hold you. Now, the second you hit my shoulder you are asleep. The crazy thing is, you don't do this for daddy - but instead scream and scream and scream. It's getting a little hurtful to daddy, and well, I need to get back to sleep, so if you could just go back to your old ways, we'd much appreciate it. So to say the least, you were trouble Friday night. Saturday was even better... Saturday day you and me got the house all situated for our big Easter lunch while Daddy and Uncle Jay-bee fixed the outside of the house all up! That night, mommy and daddy did something crazy - we watched you AND your cousin Ellie - who is 8 weeks old at this point! I have to say - your little cousin showed you up. She was a perfect angel and just slept the whole time. You, my precious peanut cup, did not! Once again, you wouldn't sleep so mommy just held you the whole night, or well till midnight but then you just woke up bright and early ( we spent the night at Ellie's) so we headed home at 6!!! Oh we wish you'd get back to normal. Are your teeth bothering you? Mimi seems to think so. daddy seems to think you are a genius and know the difference between me and him and that you just test me. Which one is it? I sure don't want to let you cry it out if your teeth hurt (or I should say the becoming of your teeth because you do not have any just yet missy!!) SO - it's Easter - and oh what and Easter. Your Auntie Amy and UNcle Martin and the kiddos all came and Papa came and of course Uncle Jay-bee and AUntie Steph and Ellie. We had a big meal, but you slept through it all - NO COMPLAINTS - it was your nap time and somehow you slept through all the noise! Soon after we hunted easter eggs and Spence-a-rooni found the golden egg. Tears were shed by the others. The boys played cornhole and the girls played with you (and Papa - he loves you to death but I think you might be scared of his beard!!). You played with your easter basket and we all tried to make you crawl. you were so close today. We all saw it and some of us are claiming it was a crawl. I am still looking for it though - i need consistency! K - daddy's exhausted on the couch and snoring, I need to send him to bed!! Love you - please sleep well tonight...

I've been inspired...

Dear Abby - Okay, so it has been awhile. BUT... I've been inspired. Yesterday we went and visited Miss Auburn and Chloe and Cole (two of the cutest kiddos!) and she talked about having a blog and how she writes in it, and i thought, you know, if she has 2 kids (2 and under) and has time to do this, then I should too. Therefore, I am committed to writing at least weekly. After reading Miss Auburn's, I think the key is keep it short and sweet. And I'm not worrying about grammar and stuff!! I just want to keep a blog of you, Abby!
So, yesterday we had such a fun day at the Kizer's home - lots of poopy diapers and LOTS of talking, from the adults that is. Today - that was another whole adventure. Aunt Steph and Ellie met us at the mall to visit the Easter bunny. We got some lunch and had just sat down to eat when an announcement came over saying that there was a tornado warning for the area. At first we were confused, b/c the announcer was a bit confusing but then some man walked by (a security person) telling us all that we were in a dangerous area because glass was all above us. So I spoke up and said 'well where are we supposed to go' - and well, we went to the 'safe zone.' Didn't know it, but there is a long long LONG hallway behind the stores of the mall that is 10 feet underground and has 6 feet of concrete all around it. We got the strollers and our food and headed that way. We ended up staying in this concrete hallway for and hour and a half, if not more! THANKFULLY, and I cannot stress this enough, you slept the entire time. Well, I think you woke up maybe 10 minutes before they let us go. Apparently it got a little serious outside, but we were safe in the 'safe zone.' Ellie did just perfect too - she slept, then ate, then slept!! Finally, we got out and we immediately got in line for the Easter bunny. You, my baby girl, were adorable, and I have the cutest picture to prove it! No crying at all. Just grins the whole time. After the Easter bunny Aunt Steph and Ellie and the two of us shopped a little and then we headed home - you were getting a little tired of the mall by this point - we all were. And low and behold, the sun was shining when we went outside. What a crazy weather day! Tonight - it's another Friday night of Mexican!! Love you baby girl!!!!
