BFF time

Dear Abigail,
Your BFF dropped in for a little visit this past weekend and while part of it was to meet your little sister Kate, and part of it was to hang out with Mommy, the majority part of it was to hang with you AND to take you to Disney on Ice, or as you called it "Mickey's Party". Friday, Sarah (and Mommy and Kate) picked you up from school and you showed off all your trampoline skills to Sarah, along with dressy up like Tangled and fixing Sarah's hair! That night, Mommy & Sarah got our time together while you and Daddy and Kate went to Mexican (yeah, Daddy totally took you and Kate by himself!!!) But on Saturday morning, you and Sarah got all fancied up for Mickey's party!!! You kept talking about going to his party, and wondering if Minnie was going to be there, and if Pete might be there, too. You were meeting Ellie and Ryan there, too, so it was going to be one fun party. Well, minus the fact that the second you guys pulled into the parking lot, you became terrified. No one is exactly sure of what, but you insisted Sarah hold you and I think eventually she caved and did carry you. You guys got inside and got you seat but you did NOT want to get out of Sarah's lap and even insisted Ellie sit in your seat, so she could be beside you.
Well, apparently you were crying, and shaking, and I got a text from Sarah saying you were shaking and crying and you want to go home and you hadn't even seen a character yet... But then you did. Sarah said at first you were watching (in her lap, nonetheless) but about 3-4 minutes in, you turned around and bursted in tears. So, she packed up and headed out. But then she thought well maybe if you guys went higher and weren't so close to the ice (i.e. Mickey and his friends). You gave it a try, but per another text, it was a no go and Sarah said ya'll headed out!!! UGH!!!! You are scared to death of people dressed in costumes. SCARED TO DEATH. Like not just "i don't want to hug them" or "I don't want to sit in Santa's lap" but like shaking, crying, squeezing your arms around my neck, scared to death kind of way! No clue why - maybe it has something to do with Elmo at your second birthday party??? Anyway, so you guys left and Sarah was nice enough to make it some what of an enjoyable day and took you to Chick-fil-a. Apparently on the way you told her that you weren't going to be scared of Mickey any more, after today. So for today, you are scared. Tomorrow could be a different story - or at least that's what you are saying. I know better - we've already canceled our disney world trip we had planned...
Mommy and Kate met you and Sarah at Chick-fil-a and then headed to the park to soak in some of the beautiful weather. And then of course afterwards we HAD to go to Cece's, even though Mimi wasn't with us! You were super excited and as expected got pink ice cream with THREE toppings!! That Mimi!!!! And you ate every bit of it.
That night, Daddy grilled outside and you got to have a picnic and on Sunday morning we got up and made pancakes for breakfast! You did not care for any syrup, but did actually eat a bit or two of the pancakes. You liked help making them too, minus a HUGE fit you decided to throw in front of your BFF!! I guess that's better than complete strangers though. Anyway, after the fit, and breakfast, and then an errand or 2 with Daddy, we got to have another picnic outside with Sarah, then she headed back home. Even though you guys did not get to stay very long at Mickey's party, I'm pretty sure ya'll had a blast all weekend!!! One day (I hope) we will get over this costume fear, but for now, we are avoiding any and all things dressed up. Kind of stinks though because Halloween is like 2 weeks away... UGH!!!!!! (love you!).
