Dear Abigail,
Mommy got behind...so we're going back a couple Saturday's ago when Ryan had his big 2nd birthday! And what a birthday it was. The theme of the party (cause you know we always are themeing things up) was "Under the Sea" and let me tell you something - Miss Leigh did not hold back!! You walked in their front doors and you, indeed, were under the sea. They had lights going up the stair case in blue with blown up pool toys shaped like dolphins and whales and octopuses all swimming all over the place and they had blue light bulbs in all the lights, and this one place they had this blue tinsel type stuff hanging way down so when you stood under it it really did look like you were under the sea!! And then hey had food - oh the food!! First off, for the adults they had oysters - OYSTERS. Yeah, I gag at the thought of them, too, but who has oysters at a 2 year old party? Those who theme it up, that's who! And we also had seafood gumbo and of course shrimp to munch on. Then you kiddos had octopus hotdogs (yep, shaped like an octopus), octopus red peppers and hummus, which you constantly were sticking your fingers in..., umm what else - for some reason my mind went blank but there were like 4 other 'under the sea' related foods just for you kiddos! And oh the cake - not only did the cake absolutely rock, but Miss Leigh actually made it!!!!! Sorry baby girl, that ain't ever gonna happen for your birthday parties, not unless Miss Leigh decides to do it for me :)
All in all, it was a fantastic party, and you had such a good time. Here are some highlights...
Here's you giving Ryan his big birthday hug! Aren't you two the cutest things ever!!!
And you and Ellie were such good helpers to Miss Leigh and Ryan, with all that unwrapping of presents and stuff.
It was REALLY cold that day and so they set up the slide in the garage, and that's all that was needed!! You kiddos went up and down and up and down!
You kiddos were so good with sitting at Ryan's new table...
and how excited you were to sing to Ryan! I'm pretty sure he was pretty pumped, too!!! He did so good blowing out the candles all by himself!
What fun we had! I can't believe another year has gone by...
