Music Program - International Style

Dear Abigail,
This past Friday you had your first music program at school. It was international week, or maybe even month, and so you learned all about different countries and their cultures. Each class was given a country to learn even extra stuff about, and even a song. So on Friday, you sang these songs for the whole school, and provided lots of pretty art work and yummy food, all coordinating with your country. Mommy had no clue what your country was, and was a bit nervous about what you should wear, but I was reassured that you would be fine in whatever. I was very eager to see how you would actually perform in front of everyone, as you have had a bit of stage fright in the past (clearly not a gene you got from your momma!), and Daddy was guaranteeing that you would see us and it would be over. And then it didn't help that Mimi insisted she come up to see the program, even though we were heading straight to Munford after your program!!! (yes, that means Mimi literally drove straight up for your program and then straight back...) So off to school you went that morning, eager to sing the songs. I tried all week to get you to sing them to me, but you looked at me as if i was crazy for asking "Sing your country's song!" I soon discovered why I was crazy in your eyes...
So, the planner in me insisted we get their to get a good seat, as I've learned in the past that the seat is key. And it was. See, not only was this your first school program, but it was also the school's first program - ever! So they were a little unprepared for the massive amount of parents that are dedicated to their kids education or at least school programs!! It was SOOO crowded, and in a tiny little space, too, but Mommy and Mimi were able to get a seat on the first row!! Daddy decided to stand so he could video tape, which seemed to backfire on us later, but we'll get to that... So, the 2 classes under you went first, and then it was your turn. Well, you spotted Daddy immediately, and you insisted to stay with him, immediately. Thankfully, Miss Brittney was able to pull you away and bring you to the front. For some reason, it didn't really click in your head that it was me and Mimi sitting right there staring at you. You saw us, but I think the massive amount of people completely overwhelmed you. But, you stayed up their the whole time. Did you sing, no, BUT your song was CRAZY!!! Your country was India (so super yummy food!!), and your song was all in Hindi! I had no idea what anyone was saying, or well, your teachers because they were the only ones singing!! It was precious though, and even though no one sang, it was the best first ever music program I had ever seen! Here's a few shots of you singing with your class. At some point during the song you decided your feet needed a rest, and just sat down!

Once all the individual classes sang a song, all the classes came back out together to sing "It's a Small World". Let me just tell you - this was Crazy, and yeah, with a capital "C"! Literally kids from 12 months to 5 years old, all standing up there together, all of them seeing their parents, half of them waving, the other half crying, some so scared from the massive amount of people! CRAZY!!! But so precious! Again, you didn't sing, but you didn't run to us either (but that was probably because the 200 people blocking you!!)

All in all, it was a perfect first music program ever! I was so proud of you for standing up there, even if you didn't sing! And boy, were you excited when it was over, because guess where you were FINALLY getting to go? MIMI'S HOUSE!!!
