Mommy went on her annual girls trip with your BFF, Sarah, and you got to stay home with only Daddy for 4 straight days!!! I can only imagine all the fun you two had, but Daddy and you did tell me a little, so I'll try to recap as much as I can.
Since Mommy left on Wednesday, you went to school on Wednesday. According to Daddy, after school consisted of dinner, then baths then bedtime, and it all worked out just dandy. According to Daddy...
On Friday night, most of the gang met at Mexican, where I heard you did rather well, especially considering your 'surroundings'. See, apparently Daddy stuck you in between Ellie and Ryan - yeah, like as in between 2 other two year olds, with no parent/adult beside you. Not sure how Daddy got away with not having to sit beside you on the one night he HAD to sit beside you, but he did. Bravo Daddy - Bravo.
Now Saturday was a little bit more jam packed with fun. To start, you had a birthday party, Addelyn's, at Monkey Joe's. Monkey Joe's is an indoor inflatable playhouse kind of thing, kind of like Pump it Up, but more treehouse oriented, or so I've heard. This birthday party was your first time going, so we didn't know for sure what it was all about, but we knew it had to be fun. And, according to Daddy, it was. Well, it was until Monkey Joe himself showed up. Daddy said you were having a big ole time with all your friends, then you caught sight of Monkey Joe and that's when you lost it. According to Daddy, you starting crying hysterically, would not let him put you down, and wouldn't take your eyes off him, oh, and shaking the whole time. He said it was so bad, parents were coming up to him asking if everything was okay and if they could do anything to help. Finally Monkey Joe left the play area and, while you were a little apprehensive about playing, eventually you did go back to having fun. At one point, Daddy emailed me saying he had lost you for a few minutes but soon found you in someone else's party room asking for pizza, someone else's as in not your party. Finally it was time to go to your party room (or rather, Addelyn's) and you ate pizza and sort of ate cake, but then Addelyn's Mommy went to Daddy and told him that Monkey Joe was about to make a personal appearance for all of Addelyn's guest, and she just wanted to warn Daddy. Daddy wasn't taking any chances - he packed your things, got your goody bag and out the door you went! I'm gonna say that was probably a good move, considering it was nap time and you already had one meltdown 30 minutes prior. So off to home you went where you got some rest so you could be on for your big Saturday night out with Daddy.
You went to a charity event with Daddy!!! Mimi likes to say you went to a gala with Daddy, but really it was just a celebrity basketball game. And Ellie and Aunt Steph and Uncle Jaybee all went, too. And Papa was even there. Daddy has some good friends who's little boys are sick and so you went to this game to try to raise money for a cure for them! Aunt Steph told me you did really good at the game, and even said your hair wasn't too crazy :) She said you climbed a little on the railings, but overall you and Ellie had a blast. And you even spent the night with Ellie after the big charity ball (game :). Daddy spent the night, too, don't worry. Mommy would have been screaming "unfair" if he got off on Mexican duty AND Saturday night duty!!!! Sunday morning you and Ellie fixed pancakes, to which you ate zero of it and then around 10ish, you and Daddy met Aunt Steph, Ellie, and Uncle Jaybee at Ryan's house to play on the jumpy house outside. Apparently it was really really hot that morning, but you all had a good time, and you even had a picnic outside!
Mommy was trying to get home before you woke up from your nap, but naps aren't your greatest accomplishments these days, so when I walked in the door you were wide awake ready to give me hugs!!
I missed you tons, but I think you and Daddy did a pretty good job being just the 2 of you. I should plan more of these Daddy and Abby weekends, huh?? :)
Love you baby girl!
