Polar Express Party 2013

Dear Abby,
We had our 2nd Annual Polar Express Christmas Party and had SO much fun!  We cranked it up a notch or two this year and added fun photo props based on the movie Polar Express!

You are playing the roll of the conductor very seriously...
And Ryan makes a cute little elf, even if he was super scared of Knox!

We also did another fun craft!  This year we did cute hot plate things (my mind has gone blank!) with your fingerprints as the Christmas lights.  Miss Leigh worked hard on each of you kiddos and they turned out perfect!

Everyone played upstairs (or made crafts) and then it was time for dinner! We carried on the tradition of a snowman themed pizza...

And added in Grinch fruit snacks!
Mommy added a little flare to the table chairs and everyone gobbled up their goods!
Mommy has also become quite the crafty lady (thanks to this new machine called a Cameo!) and I made these hot chocolate mugs for everyone!
And of course for those of us who may not want hot chocolate and prefer something else...
After dinner we got everyone into their matching pjs!!!  Again - super stinkin' cute!!!  As always, it was a bit chaotic to get everyone in the picture at one time, BUT it gets better and better with every time.

Look at that!  It's like a Christmas card!
And look at these three amigos!!
Silly friends forever!
Best Cousins Forever!

And Best Sisters Forever - except that picture didn't turn out as well as it should.  You two really do love each other though :)
After a few hundred pictures, we gathered around to pass out pictures.  This year for presents, we decided that the moms would take the kids to the Dollar Tree and you could pick out one gift for each friend (so you got to pick out a gift for Ryan and a gift for Ellie and then Kate got to pick for JAke and Kipper).  You were SUPER excited to pick out the presents and did a lovely job.  You went first with passing out the presents (oldest to youngest!)...

Ellie loved the fake fingernail set you got her (and Aunt Steph was thrilled, too!) and Ryan loved his 2 Ninja men with swords.  (on a side note, I clearly am not a boy's momma.  Spell check had to help me with the correct spelling of ninja!)

Then it was your turn to get a gift from Ryan.  Miss Leigh had said that he was DETERMINED to get you this and despite Miss Leigh's great efforts in changing his mind, he got you a matchbox car...
When you first opened it, your exact words were "What the what?  I got a boy toy?" and Miss Leigh immediately sat down with you and explained that Ryan LOVES his cars and he thought his BBF should have what he loves.  You were VERY well mannered about the whole thing and told him thank you and didn't get upset when Ellie got a really cute wand.  Mommy explained that boys and girls can both enjoy the same toys, and believe it or not, that car has been played with more than you would have thought!!
After presents, it was time for the grand finale!  Polar Express movie and POPCORN, including a lovely candy bar!

Whoppers for you, of course!
And I think Aunt Steph had too many whoppers!

Everyone loved the movie (it was our first time seeing it this holiday season) after the movie we TRIED to get the three of you to sleep upstairs in your sleeping bags, but, well, that lasted 5 seconds.  We got everyone to their own beds (with their mommies, of course!) and slept off all that fun!  The next morning we had our traditional reindeer pancakes (but no pictures!) that everyone enjoys!  A fun polar express christmas party, indeed! Even Knoxie had fun!!
