John Michael's Visit

Dear Abigail,
On Sunday night, we came home from Cole's birthday party to find Mimi and John Michael eagerly waiting at our house!  John Michael was so excited to see us and the feeling was equally mutual from you.  You two ran around in circles for a few minutes and we finally calmed you down enough to sit down for dinner.  Sure enough, after dinner the two of you were back at it.  JM loved to blow up the 'moon bounce' (you call it a bouncy house but he calls it a moon bounce) and I wasn't sure we would ever get you two calmed down for bed.  Eventually we did, but both of you wanted to sleep with Mimi.  That Mimi of yours was nice enough to sleep in the middle of the two of you!  You were super excited about that.
The next morning brought even more excitement because we picked up a special breakfast treat for you and JM the day before - chocolate donuts!!!  Man alive were you excited about this.  After breakfast we got bundled up headed over to Gentry's Farm.  JM had never been and you were super excited to show him all the fun things to do, including the annual photo on the truck...

You have this new thing with your hand, where you hold it like you have an imaginary tray of food on it.  No clue where it came from, but you do it all the time now whenever we take pictures...
You were SUPER excited to go on the farm...
And first things first, we took a 'hay' ride, minus the hay...

After the hay ride we let you guys play, play, play and you took JM by the hand to show him everything...

Of course, you made a pit stop (or two, or three, or four) on the tire swing...
And John Michael did too!!!!

And you found a few turkeys, chickens, geese and couple other random birds...
But your favorite place was the corn/wheat center...

We went through the barn maze a couple of dozen times...

And posed for a few more pictures...
Weaved some yarn...
Shopped at the farmer's market...

Cooked at the diner...

And played in an outhouse.  That's right, you LOVED this outhouse!

Everyone picked a pumpkin out and got to take it home...
You and JM (and Kate and Mommy and Mimi) had so much fun at Gentry's.  It wasn't crowded at all and we really got to play with everything.  I think JM's favorite was the slide.  I think he ran around, up the ladder and down the slide 20 times in 2 minutes!  You really loved the tire swing, but it took all I could to get you away from that corn feed!  After the farm, we headed to Mellow Mushroom for some yummy pizza and then home to rest.
Of course, with you two rest didn't last too long, not to mention it was a beautiful day, so you two went on a ride!

You guys even saw a hot air balloon taking off from our neighborhood - Mimi really liked that because she had never seen it close up!  And, to top off the afternoon, Mimi took you and JM to Sweet Cece's for a little treat!  After baths, you two settled down once again in Mimi's bed and were asleep in no time.  Unfortunately, you had school the next morning, BUT, that didn't stop you from convincing Mimi to give you another chocolate donut while Mommy was at the gym!  Sneaky girl.  Mom dropped you off at school, but Mimi and John Michael got to pick you up and see your new school.  Sadly, they had to leave right after you got home, but what a FUN FUN FUN couple of days with John Michael and Mimi.  You two played so well together and he is such a sweet, sweet boy.  I can't wait for him to come back for a visit and you couldn't agree more!  Loves you!!
