The Hill - 2010

Dear Abigail,
This Labor Day weekend, me and you and Daddy AND Uncle Jaybe, Aunt Steph and Ellie all went to visit Papa Rob and Grandaddy at The Hill! It's exactly what we did last year, but this year we invited Ellie! What a difference a year makes! Last year you were a bit, well, clingy, but this year I couldn't keep up with you!! We arrived Sunday morning and let you girls just kind of run around, get used to the place, etc while we got some lunch together. Run around was an understatement!!!!

Clearly you got tired, right???

Nope, that's just you girls being silly on the nasty floor!!!
After a quick lunch, a lot more running around and a trip to the power lines, we laid you girls down for a nap. The set up was a little different, but I thought you could handle it, and you did, eventually. You played and played in the bedroom, I bet for over an hour and finally fell asleep on the floor which didn't last too long. Actually, I'm pretty sure when it was Mommy & Aunt Steph's turn to do the four wheeler tour, you guys both woke up!!!! It always works out that way - but that's okay. We got dressed and decided to all head to the water hole...

I can wrap up that little trip with one word... Brrrrrrrrrr!! Boy was it cold, but that didn't stop you. Or Aunt Steph or Papa Rob!!! Those crazy fools jumped off the tree swing! You loved throwing the rocks, trying to skip them like Daddy does, and you loved just watching the fishies come up and bite Mommy's toes! We stayed for a good while, and eventually had to get in the direct sun light to warm up, as your lips were turning a bit of purple! We had a fun time though, and one day we will go to the Hill when the water will feel good!!!
After the dip in the water, we headed back to Papa Robs where you and Ellie were entertained with the cooler and "Nemo"...

That day was actually your birthday, so Mommy made a special dinner for you and Ellie - spaghetti!!!! The both of you ate it as if you hadn't eaten in weeks!!! Of course, a bath came immediately after and bedtime soon after that! You both were exhausted and had no problems going to bed for the night!! And Mommy & Aunt Steph got to enjoy a relaxing night gazing at the bazillion stars in the sky. We saw so many I almost wanted to go wake you up to see them! Maybe next year...maybe...
The next morning Papa Rob cooked us an awesome breakfast of eggs adn bacon and sausage and biscuits and gravy and then of course, Grandaddy brought his potatoes (Mommy's absolute fave!!). After getting our bellies full, we let you girls run around again, this time it was spent chasing Grandaddy's dog (that I can't remember his name, as he is a fairly new addition to this family...) Anyway - you girls chased and chased that dog!

This is you trying to ride the dog as if he was a horse...
Chasing again...
And now you asked if the dog could "Sit in my lap?"
So he did - sort of...
And Ellie got a turn, too!
And last but certainly not least, we headed to the carving tree to mark it in history that you and Ellie came for a visit...

Here's from the first time Mommy brought Daddy to the Hill.... awww....
YAY!! AC & EC 2010!!! We'll never forget it!!!

Soon after, we made our way back to the car, which lead us back to Franklin....
All in all, a real good time!! I'm glad we go to show Ellie and the gang what the Hill was all about!!! Can't wait for the next visit! xxxxooooooo
