ZooBabes!

Dear Abigail,
Starting this past Saturday, you are attending ZooBabes at the Nashville Zoo!! Ellie and Ryan are accompanying you through this wildlife adventure, and I think you all three are really going to love it!!! This first Saturday, Mimi got to go with you!!! You really loved it! When we first got there, everyone gathered around in a circle and you learned about the habitat of all kinds of different animals. And then... wait for it... you got to meet 2 actual zoo animals!! The first was Sweet Pea, the parakeet...
I don't think Sweet Pea was exactly thrilled (or accustomed) to meeting all you kiddos because she kind of flew away at first, but once your teacher got her back in place, everyone waved at her, as she was not allowed to be touched! You had no problem waving to her!

Next you got to meet Emily, the tortoise.
Now she was a different story - she did not mind being petted at all!!! And we even watched her chow down on some grapes!!
After we learned about their habitats, it was time to note it all in your journal.

And then it was back to the circle for a snack and story time!

You ran out of your snacks pretty quickly (i.e. you ate them pretty quickly) and your friendly neighbor, who happened to be your friendly cousin, was a smidge slower than you. So, of course, you tried to snatch them right out of her hand. Thankfully, Ellie was nice enough to just give you a few, but she was quickly informed to hurry up and eat the rest before you came back for seconds!!!!

After the class, me, you and Mimi wondered through the zoo, making a stop at the new flamingo exhibit! It was quite the scene to see, with all those big, tall, pink birds right there!

You really like the "Nemos" - so much, you just had to have one to take home...

We wondered through a little bit more of the zoo, making a stop for sure at the giraffes and elephants...

And then we headed back to the house (after running a bazillion errands!!) to get ready for the first game of the season!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!

I am so happy to say that you totally know when to say "GO VOLS"!!! A) whenever you see orange. B) whenever you see Smokey. and C) when Mommy and Daddy beg and beg you and offer some of Aunt Jill's M&M's!!!!! (as in the case below...)

We headed over to Uncle Jaybee's and Aunt Steph's to watch the game; however, I'm not sure how much watching you got done... Someone who's name starts with a "Miss" and ends with a "Leigh" suggested that you kiddos throw the rocks from the back patio into the fire pit.... and so you did. And oh how you and Ryan enjoyed it...

Oh, and I'm pretty sure this went down as one of your favorite days of all time because as we were heading outside, guess what you saw in the sky?!! A BALOOOOOOON!!!! ahhhh, you love your balloons, especially those big ole ones that fly in the sky!!!!

Well, you and Mimi didn't stick around too long, and you had to get your playing in with her, as it will be FOUR whole weeks until you see her again - I KNOW, I KNOW - she's already giving me a hard time!!!!!!!

Guess what tomorrow is though??????? YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
