Lilapalooza 2.0 (aka Abigail's 2nd Birthday Party)!!!!!!!

Dearest Abigail,
Stealing a direct quote from you - "OH MY GOOOOOSH"!!! What a weekend, what a weekend!!! Man alive, if there is one thing about this family of ours it's that we can throw a party! This Saturday, we celebrated your 2nd birthday, and we celebrated it with style! To begin, Elmo invited all your friends and family to come over for the afternoon:
Because your nap time runs right at 2:00 most days, I decided to try to put you down for your nap a little earlier, in hopes that you'd sleep well and wake up a little before the party. Well, one thing lead to the other (i.e. you went swimming with Papa Rob that morning!!) and you went down for your nap a little later than wanted, so, what that meant, was that you were sleeping right up to party time!!! Thankfully Mimi and the gang (yeah, I mean gang for real this time because she brought about 13 people with her!!!) got here a little before the party started and right about 1:55 you were moving around in your room so Mimi went and got you up. She was supposed to just get you dressed, BUT, you had a little bit of an accident in your bed, so it was off to the quickest bath you've ever seen in your life! Mommy wasn't real sure how it happened, cause Mimi did it, but next thing I know, you are as pretty as can be, and smack dab ready for your party!!!!
And party we did! You had a big ole bouncy house WITH a slide waiting for you in the back yard, and boy did everyone have fun on that!!!

I think everyone has determined where your mouth full of teeth come from...
It was hard to catch a shot of you facing forward, so I thought I'd include this one!!!

At one point, Mommy was in the bouncy house with you and you started to fall over the edge and I had to literally dive across the house and save your life - seriously - ask Aunt Ash Ash and Pic-Pic and I think Uncle J even saw it!!! After that, Mommy was D-O-N-E!
But everyone else enjoyed it for hours and hours and hours!!!

After a good bit of bouncing, and lots of juice drinking (please take note of the Elmo themed juice boxes - yes, I am quite proud of my parties, I mean your parties :)...
A special guest came to visit and sing songs...

What a special treat, right?! Wrong!!!! I'm pretty sure every kid 3 and under was crying, and even some older than 3, well, that is, all except for Miss Cater Ann, who was just 1 year old and walked straight up to him and let him hold her!!!! Boy, were we all surprised at the reactions! You didn't necessarily cry, so to speak, but you would not show Elmo any love nor let Mommy put you down so we could dance and sing with Elmo. So, we just danced and sung together!!! Elmo had such great music to sing to you, too, and even included a song called "Abigail's World" instead of "Elmo's World". You can thank your BFF for that awesome CD, btw! Poor Jack was the most traumatized, though. He saw him before anyone else did, and then went missing, only to find him hiding under the table, scared to death...
Well, to say the least, Elmo didn't stick around too long, and thank goodness because it's 5 days later and you still say "Elmo all done???" when we mention anything birthday-ish or you see anything Elmo related!! Yowzers, I did not realize that was not going to go over well, at all!!! Lesson learned! Aunt Ash-ash said Clara Lee woke up in the middle of night a couple nights ago saying "No! No! No Elmo!" I know I shouldn't laugh, but one day everyone will look back at this and laugh, right?!!! I hope you won't have a life long fear of red hairy monsters.... :)
Shortly after Elmo, I decided to lighten the mood (and cool off a little) by bringing everyone inside to open your presents! BOY did you get a ton of presents!!! You weren't too interested in opening, but that was okay because Mommy had about 7 helpers just eagerly waiting to open on the count of go! Every now and then you would venture over to the madness and take a peek, but don't worry, it's been 5 days and you have played with every one of the presents. You'd play with one and then say "Now this one!" and we'd have to move on to the next one then"now this one" again, and so on and so on... Here are some highlights from the opening madness!!!

Oh Auntie Jill is going to get in trouble for this one! She gave you the cutest jar, but loaded it with M&M's!!!!!! Every little hand around there was grabbing for them!

And, of course, shortly after presents, it's BIRTHDAY CAKE TIME!! Or in our case, Birthday Cupcake time!! All 2 million of us gathered in the dining room to sing to you and you were so excited because you LOVE to sing Happy Birthday - except you sing what sounds like "Happy New Year to You" - but it really is Happy Birthday To You! I will say, though, since you've heard it a WHOLE bunch this last week, you've started actually singing it correctly, or well, now you say "Happy Birthday Aaaaaaa-bbbbbbby, Happy Birthday Abby!"

Here are a few other highlights from the party:

You were SOOO excited that Miss Lee came, and she brought Rebekah, so that just made your day!! It was hard to get you away from Miss Lee at first!!!!
Here are you and your mommy, and your mommy's mommy, and your mommy's mommy's mommy!!! Four generations - all sparkly and pretty!
Ahhh, this was your first time seeing Clara Lee! Boy does she love her some Abby!!!!

As you can see, it was such a great party, and because like 90% of the guest are from out of town (i.e. your family!!!), we got BBQ and everyone stayed for dinner!!!!

It was an exhausting time, to say the least, but SOOOOOO worth every bit of it!!!! You had such a good time, and I think everyone else did, too! You are so lucky to have such special friends and family!!!! YAY for 200 more birthday parties!!!!!!! (just minus the Elmo!).
Love you baby girl, or should I say Toddler Girl!!!! Happy Happy Happy Birthday!!!!!
